Poutine
Poutine is a classic Canadian dish consisting of french fries and whatever you want on top. The original is topped with gravy and cheese curds. However, as the dish has evolved, you can get anything from bacon to marshmallows on your fries. “Anything goes” is a great way to describe this Canadian classic.

Burgers
Yes, we have all had a burger before, and no, it’s not a new trend that just came along. But, have you ever tried a duck burger? Or a pork belly burger? Things are heating up for the burger family, and they’re expanding from the original beef burger to seafood, waffle, and even doughnut burgers. New trend? I think so.

Brunch
Brunch has been around for years, and the English have been doing it quite well for the past century. It’s taken a turn – young people love to go “brunching.” Brunching is going to brunch in the morning and staying to drink unlimited mimosas, bellinis, and Bloody Marys until the afternoon. There’s a huge culture revolving around going to brunch. In the summer, the patios of all the major cities are packed by noon on Sundays solely for enjoyment of brunching. You definitely want to check this out.

Ethiopian Food
Ethiopian food has recently come up on the radar due to the number of restaurants opening up in U.S. and Canadian cities. There seems to be a huge amount of positive reviews for the growing trend, especially injera, a spongy flat bread similar to a pancake. The spicy sauces and meats accompany injera in very unique way completely different from Western meals. It’s a perfect way to share a group meal.

Tea
Tea has become more and more popular based on the increasing variety and health benefits. The demand for tea in restaurants and bistros have grown to the point where many offer more flavors and steeping techniques. Tea stores openings have increased, and it’s the main alternative to coffee. The variety of tea offered now includes Kombucha, Macha, and even Tea Pops (tea with sparkling water).

Pho
Vietnamese Pho has been around for years, but it’s slowly taken off and has become increasingly popular. People who tried Pho before it became a trend still love it, and people who are newly introduced to the soup can’t stop raving about it. It’s a delicious noodle soup, and it’s the best cure for hangovers.

Organic Food
The demand for organically grown foods has increased exponentially within the past few years. People have become more aware of their health to the point where organic food is the cool thing to buy. Stores like Whole Foods are benefiting from health conscious people, and they’re able to bring in more varieties of organic produce. It’s a healthy trend that won’t stop powering along for the next while.

Quinoa
Continuing with the health factor trends, quinoa is a grain grown for its seeds. Nowadays, quinoa is a staple in most restaurants, founds in salads and pastas. It’s a very healthy grain and easily made at home. Healthy eaters dig it for its nutritional value, and it’s has become a popular substitute for leavened grains in the Jewish community.

Flavoured Beer
Maybe it’s because people have gotten used to or sick of the taste of normal beer but flavoured beer has gotten very popular within the young folks. Watermelon, strawberry, and orange are just to name a few flavors. It’s similar to cider, but still part of the ale family. The alcohol content is also generally similar to beer with the lower percentage around 2 and the higher around 7. It’s a great alternative to beer for those of you who despise the taste of regular lager.

Coconut Oil
A huge new trend, coconut oil isn’t just used in foods anymore, it’s used for beauty, weight loss, and stress relief. It’s great for repairing your skin and hair, and it lowers the risk of heart disease and obesity due to its concentration of saturated fats. It’s often used as a replacement to other cooking oils and butter. Restaurants use it as a substitute for olive oil in many of their dishes.

Don’t be afraid to step outside of the box. These trends are all ideal for those of you seeking a little adventure. You’ll never know what delicious dishes can pop up at anytime, so it’s up to you to try these out before the fad is gone!repeladventure
